We collect nothing
SpectaKool has no account to create, no analytics and no server of ours for your data to reach. We do not know what you study, when, or that you use the app at all.
The class is recorded and transcribed on your device
The microphone — or on a Mac, the sound of the meeting app you choose — is recorded only while a class you started is running. Transcription happens on the device itself, with a speech model downloaded once. The recording is never sent to a transcription service or to an AI. You can also choose not to keep recordings at all.
Your iCloud, and only yours
So that a class follows you from iPad to Mac, your classes, transcripts, recordings, textbooks, marks, notes, timetable and homework are stored in your own private iCloud database. Apple holds them under your Apple Account; we cannot see them. Recordings can be left out of the sync in Settings, and with iCloud sync turned off for SpectaKool everything stays on the one device.
AI, only where you choose
Summaries, quizzes, questions, translation, finding homework and reading a timetable use the engine you pick in Settings. Apple Translation, Apple Intelligence and Gemma run on the device and send nothing. A server of your own receives the text directly from your device. A cloud provider — Anthropic, OpenAI or Google — is used only with an API key you enter; the class's text (the transcript, your notes, your question) then goes to that provider under your key and its terms, and so do pictures of textbook pages for a quiz and a photo of a timetable you ask it to read. Audio is never sent. Keys are kept in this device's keychain and do not leave it.
What the app downloads
Speech and language models are downloaded from Hugging Face, from Calida Lab's copies. Calendar links you follow are read from the address you gave, and web pages you open beside the textbook load from their own sites. Those requests carry nothing about you beyond what any web request does.
Reminders and Calendar
If you turn on copies of homework, they are written into your own Reminders and Calendar on the device — Apple's apps, synced by Apple as you have set them up. Nothing is sent to us.
Children
SpectaKool is made for students, children among them, and collects nothing from anyone of any age. Cloud AI is used only when someone enters a provider's API key, and that provider's own terms, including its age limits, then apply.
