Every class, in writing.
As it happens.
SpectaKool writes down what the teacher says while they are saying it — in the language of the class, with your own language beneath it if you want. Notes start on the line they are about, and what you mark in the textbook becomes what you revise.

Read the class while it is happening
Start a class and the teacher's words appear a moment after they are spoken, transcribed on the device by Whisper in any of the nearly one hundred languages it knows. Turn on translation for a subject and every line carries your language beneath it. Fall behind and scroll back; one tap on Catch up brings you to now.
A note starts on the line it is about
On the iPad, hold the Pencil on a line of the book or tap a sentence of the transcript, and a note card opens right there. It remembers the moment of the class it was written in, so what the teacher was saying is one tap away when you come back to it. Every subject keeps a notebook too, with a fresh dated page for each class.
Mark the book. Revise from the marks.
Underline what to read again, box what to learn. Marks snap to whole words, and every box becomes a card: the page with the answer covered, and the teacher's voice from that moment of the class. Cards come back on a schedule until you know them. Textbooks arrive as PDFs from Classroom, Drive or Files; Word, PowerPoint and HWP handouts and web pages become pages you can mark too.
Ask the class anything
Open the AI panel after class: a summary with timestamps, the key points with your own marks among them, a five-question quiz built from what was said and the pages you had open, and a place to ask questions — that one works during class too. Before a test, Prepare gathers every class since the last test into one study guide and a quiz across the whole range. The questions you miss become cards.
Your week, already filled in
Photograph the timetable, or give SpectaKool the calendar link your school or university publishes, and the week appears — terms, odd and even weeks, cancelled and moved classes included. Today shows what comes next, with a button to start it. Homework the teacher announces out loud is picked out of the transcript and offered to you, and can be copied into Reminders and Calendar.
Online classes, on the Mac
On a Mac, SpectaKool takes the sound straight from the meeting app — Zoom, Meet or whichever the school uses — not through the speakers and the room. Notes are typed beside the line they belong to, and the captions can float over the meeting window, so the class and its words stay in one place.
iPad in class, Mac at home
Classes, recordings, textbooks, marks and notes move between your iPad, iPhone and Mac through your own iCloud. There is no account to make and nothing kept on our servers — we have none. The iPhone is for reading back and revising on the way home.
The class stays yours
The recording is transcribed right here and never goes to a transcription service or an AI; it travels only to your own devices, through your iCloud. For summaries, quizzes and translation you choose who does the work: Apple's own translator, Apple Intelligence, a Gemma model running on the device, a server of your own, or a cloud provider with your own key. The first three send nothing anywhere.
